2013 TECHART GrandGT based on Porsche Panamera Turbo

2013 TECHART GrandGT

Based on Porsche Panamera Turbo

TECHART Automobildesign presented its interpretation of the Porsche Panamera model at the 83rd Geneva Motor Show from March 5th to 17th 2013. The 630 HP GrandGT, which is based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo, extracts the purest TECHART DNA from Porsche's premium saloon. With special space grey paint, a customised black TECHART leather interior and TECHART 22-inch Formula III forged wheels in gloss black with a red rim, the TECHART GrandGT based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo presents itself to the world.

Design

The TECHART aerodynamics package for the Porsche Panamera fulfils requirements for the three, equally important, core elements: stability, aerodynamics and design. The exterior package, made from a lightweight fibre composite of carbon and polyurethane RIM, is distinguished by its product features: these are predominantly for use in motor sports, where they can express their high levels of load-bearing capacity and dimensional stability with a low tare weight.

The low front spoiler, with integrated front splitter and large air inlets, guarantees an even and improved flow to the intercoolers and brakes. The TECHART aero engine hood, made from weight-reduced carbon fibre with additional air outlets, improves the heat balance in the engine compartment and gives the 4.8 I V8 bi-turbo engine enough oxygen to breathe. Side skirts and wheel arch extensions give the TECHART GrandGT a total of 42 extra millimetres on the front and 84 millimetres on the rear axis over the series model, thus generating a wider track and enhanced driving dynamics. The synthesis of the TECHART rear wing and roof spoiler ensures reduced lift on the rear axis and increased running stability and safety, especially at high speeds. The TECHART rear apron, with integrated air inlets and a diffuser, improves the aero dynamics and generates additional downforce for increased traction.

The TECHART GrandGT, which is based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo, is already providing design highlights. The multifunctional daytime running lights system, which is integrated into the front spoiler, does not just lend the saloon a striking exterior; it also combines daytime running lights, navigation lights, parking lights and indicators as an LED system unit in one casing. The decorative trims on the bi-xenon headlights, available in different colour combinations, together with the trim bars on the side air outlets, made from high-quality PU RIM material, represent additional elegant design elements. The twin TECHART sport exhaust system with stainless steel exhaust pipes in a double-oval design represents a visual as well as a clear acoustic statement. Customers can also order the TECHART sport exhaust system with integrated valve control – for a noticeable increase in sportiness.

Proven and tested TECHART design continues in the original TECHART wheels for the Porsche Panamera. It doesn't matter which of the three wheel designs the customer chooses; besides attractive standard colour variations, all wheels can be individually customised to suit the vehicle in question. For the Porsche Panamera models, the TECHART Formula light-alloy wheel is available in 20 and 21 inches, the TECHART Formula II light-alloy wheel in 22 inches, the TECHART Formula II GTR light-alloy wheel in bi-colour in 20 to 22 inches, and the TECHART Formula III forged wheel in 21 and 22 inches.

Performance

The TECHART range for Porsche Panamera models knows how to impress when it comes to looking under the TECHART aero engine hood too. The TECHART engine styling package with carbon fibre cylinder head covers, TECHART badges and flash red accents demonstrates the power of the vehicle before the engine is even switched on. Activated via the series-standard sport button on the central console, the finely-tuned TECHTRONIC engine management system, together with the performance kit TA 070/T2, allows the overall power of the 4.8 l bi-turbo motor to be increased from 368 to 464 kW (500 to 630 horsepower), the maximum torque from 700 to 880 Nm, and the maximum speed to 330 km/h. The intelligent control technology, which is quick and easy to install, impresses with its fully electronic protective functions and the vehicle's service and diagnostic capabilities which remain complete. The clear demand that TECHART has for original equipment quality is expressed through a guarantee for engine and transmission defects in line with the TECHTRONIC guarantee conditions, as well as the two-year warranty.

Interior

TECHART's in-house manufacturing sees to it that the silver stitching, and the carbon graphite and piano paint interior styling packages perfectly match the TECHART full-leather trim, which is exclusively available in black with the edges of the front seats and door rims in red. Thus the accents on the car's exterior are directly incorporated. Typical TECHART: The multifunctional sport steering wheel with TECHART shift paddles. Numerous entertainment options in the TECHART-refined Porsche Panamera models mean that the thrill of the road is not just limited to the driver's experience. For example, the TECHART W2 entertainment package with two 7-inch screens seamlessly integrated into the backrest of the front seats provides entertainment in the back of the four-seater vehicle. Both flat-screens are mounted in high-quality leather consoles. The TECHART central console unit, which increases storage space in the back and features a 12-volt plug and an integrated cupholder, can also be ordered for the benefit of passengers in Panamera models. Exclusive matching TECHART rear tables are also available. Thanks to the stable mechanics and high-quality materials used, these foldaway tables serve both as space to work and as a personal relaxation zone on long journeys.
