MTM A1 Nardo Edition
Take an Audi A1, this beauty is the first choice of compact cars in the automotive market all over the world, remove some weight and implant a powerful 5 cylinder engine with a new engine output of 500 hp at a weight of 1200 kilo.
To retain a good street contact the new suspension system was updated by a 6 speed manual gearbox with differential lock and special tyres developed by Michelin in the dimension 235/30 x 19. A new GFK wing ensures enough place inside the wheel house like its used in the RS3. This was the whole preparation of the MTM team for the attempt to set a record at the highspeed track in Nardo / South Italy.
After 4.5 seconds the MTM A1 was over 100 km/h and at the end the GPS reported a speed of 324 km/h. This impressive power pack was driven by Roland Mayer who is at the same time the spiritual father of the A1 Nardo Edition. This MTM project will have good opportunities on the market for clients who are delighted by passing big cars with respectively small cars.
