2024 McLaren 750S Coupé and 750S Spider: Lighter, More Powerful Supercars
McLaren unveiled its latest series-production models, the 2024 McLaren 750S Coupé and 750S Spider, which boast impressive innovations in terms of weight reduction, power, and performance. Both models are positioned to outperform their closest competitors with a segment-leading power-to-weight ratio, making them the lightest and most powerful series-production McLarens to date.
Weight Reduction and Carbon Fiber Construction
The 750S Coupé and Spider both benefit from carbon fiber monocoque construction, which contributes to their low vehicle weight. The 750S weighs 30 kg (66 lbs) less than the 720S, with a lightest dry weight of just 1,277 kg (2,815 lbs) – a remarkable 193 kg (425 lbs) less than its closest competitor. Carbon fiber-shelled racing seats and the lightest wheels ever fitted as standard on a series-production McLaren are among the features that help deliver this weight reduction. The Spider model, with its carbon fiber upper structure and composite Retractable Hard Top (RHT), is only 49 kg (108 lbs) heavier than the Coupé.
Powerful Twin-Turbo V8 Engine and Performance
Both 750S models are equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 750 PS and 800 Nm. A 7-speed transmission with revised ratios optimizes acceleration, enabling the Coupé to reach 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 7.2 seconds. The Spider achieves these feats in 7.3 seconds, making both models quicker than their closest competitors.

Advanced Aerodynamics and Suspension
The 750S models offer increased downforce and even better aerodynamic balance compared to the 720S. The newest generation of McLaren’s acclaimed linked-hydraulic suspension – PCC III – debuts on the 750S, featuring bespoke accumulator tuning, new lightweight springs and dampers, and revised geometry to deliver greater agility, feel, and feedback.
Driver-Focused Interior and Technology
The new interior of the 750S models sets new standards for driver engagement with displays and controls. A driver-centric, column-mounted instrument display flanked by rocker switches controls the Active Dynamic settings. This McLaren innovation allows suspension and powertrain modes to be changed with hands on the steering wheel. Apple CarPlay® is standard, as are USB-C and USB-A ports for fast device charging. The exclusive new McLaren Control Launcher (MCL) feature allows the driver to store a favorite combination of aero, handling, powertrain, and transmission settings and return to this with the push of a button.
