2023 Mazda CX-60 PHEV

2023 Mazda CX-60 Plug-In Hybrid: A Flagship SUV with Advanced Technology and Elegant Design

Mazda has unveiled the all-new 2023 Mazda CX-60 Plug-In Hybrid, the company's first plug-in full hybrid technology for the European market. As Mazda's flagship model, the CX-60 PHEV combines outstanding design, Japanese craftsmanship, and advanced human-centric technologies. It also boasts a world-class powertrain, making it the most powerful road car Mazda has ever produced.

Exterior and Interior Design Inspired by Japanese Aesthetics

The CX-60 PHEV's dynamic styling showcases the latest developments in Kodo design, inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma. The calm and dignified beauty of empty space is integrated into the toughness of the front-engine, rear-wheel drive SUV architecture. The interior design incorporates the ideas of Kaichou and Musubu, blending different materials and textures such as maple wood, nappa leather, uniquely worked Japanese textiles, and chrome details. The asymmetrical balance of the maple wood trim, diverse patterns in the woven fabrics, and the Japanese stitching technique Kakenui all contribute to the elegance and premium quality of the CX-60's interior.

Advanced Human-Centric Technologies

The Mazda CX-60 PHEV features a groundbreaking Mazda Driver Personalisation System that recognizes the driver and automatically adjusts the seat position, steering wheel, mirrors, HUD, and even the sound and climate control settings to fit the driver's physique and personal preferences. This system is designed to enhance the Jinba-Ittai driving experience by catering to the individual needs of the driver.

Powerful Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

The CX-60 PHEV is powered by a combination of a Skyactiv-G 2.5, four-cylinder direct injection petrol engine, a large 100 kW electric motor, an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission, and a 355V, 17.8 kWh high-capacity battery. This powertrain produces a total system output of 327 PS/241 kW and an abundant torque of 500 Nm, allowing the CX-60 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 5.8 seconds. Despite its impressive performance, the Mazda PHEV offers outstanding environmental credentials, with a WLTP combined fuel consumption of just 1.5l/100 km (approx. 157 mpg) and WLTP combined CO2 emissions of only 33g/km.

Enhanced Driving Dynamics and Safety Features

The CX-60 PHEV adopts Mazda's human-centric approach to driving dynamics, including bodyshell rigidity, seats designed for occupant balance, suspension that stabilizes vehicle posture, and a unique Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) system. The vehicle also features a comprehensive range of advanced i-Activsense driver-supporting safety technologies, targeting a Euro NCAP 5-star safety rating. New active safety systems include See-Through View, Turn Across Traffic Assist, SBS-R pedestrian detection, Emergency Lane Keeping, i-Adaptive Cruise Control (i-ACC), and BSM Vehicle Exit Warning.

Pricing and Availability

Starting from €51,300, the all-new Mazda CX-60 PHEV will be available in four different grades: PRIME-LINE, EXCLUSIVE-LINE, HOMURA, and TAKUMI. Each grade offers unique features and design elements, with additional option packs available for customization. The 2023 Mazda CX-60 PHEV is expected to arrive in showrooms from September 2023, solidifying its position as the new flagship SUV within Mazda's range.

Part of Mazda's Sustainable Initiatives and Future Plans

The launch of the CX-60 PHEV is an essential step towards Mazda's ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Mazda is focusing on energy conservation, renewable energies, and the introduction of carbon-neutral fuels in its factories, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2035. The company is also working on further electrification of its product lineup to reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel economy. Over the next three years, Mazda plans to introduce five new electrified products featuring its multi-solution platform architecture. After 2025, the company will launch its brand new Skyactiv EV Scalable Architecture, allowing Mazda to efficiently build electric cars of all sizes using one common platform.

Additional Electrified Models in Mazda's Lineup

Alongside the CX-60 PHEV, Mazda is introducing the Mazda2 Hybrid, offering a self-charging hybrid powertrain for the first time. Priced from €23,995, the Mazda2 Hybrid features a 0.76kW battery and is capable of driving in full electric mode for short distances. The updated Mazda MX-30, available from €32,443 after grants and VRT relief, now offers faster charging times, new design choices, and an exclusive dark interior trim 'Urban Expression' featuring dark cloth and black vegan-friendly leather alternative.

With the addition of the Mazda CX-60 PHEV and other electrified models, Mazda is committed to providing a range of vehicles that cater to varying customer needs while working towards a more sustainable future.
