Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Limited Edition
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of its iconic MX-5 roadster, Mazda makes a welcome return this year to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on 26-29 June, and not in its usual guise.
It’s the convention-defying carmaker’s strongest Goodwood presence yet, with a main stand dedicated to Mazda’s latest models and technology as well as a second honouring 25 years of the MX-5. Here the company will unveil the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe 2.0i 25th Anniversary Limited Edition, 750 of which will go on sale in August in the UK only.
A Mazda6, a Mazda CX-5 and several Mazda MX-5s will star in Goodwood's unique Moving Motor Show on 26 June, and a Mazda RX-7 rally car will storm up the famous hill throughout the Festival weekend.
The main Mazda stand will feature the Hazumi B-segment concept car (the basis for the all-new Mazda2), the new generation Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda CX-5, and several displays of Mazda's performance- and economy-enhancing SKYACTIV technology, including diesel and petrol engines and manual as well as automatic transmissions.
Mazda's second stand celebrates 25 years of the MX-5. A wide range of privately-owned MX-5s from across the years will be on display, including 10th and 20th Anniversary, California, Le Mans, Sport Black and Sport Graphite special/limited editions. Some of the sports cars that inspired the design of the original 1989 MX-5, including the Lotus Elan and MG Midget, will also be featured alongside a rare Mazda MX-5 GT4 race car and the chassis of the all-new MX-5. The central highlight, of course, is the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Limited Edition.
Mazda will showcase all the latest stories and videos from this year’s Festival online at “Rebels with a Cause – The Mazda Community”, Mazda’s new interactive web platform.
