JE DESIGN Seat Leon Cupra ST Street Race Widebody
New year, new project(s): Just a few weeks after the successful debut of the Seat Leon Cupra ST Widebody, JE DESIGN is celebrating the premiere of the "Street Race" model of the refined compact station wagon. It is not as muscle-bound as the widebody model in its appearance, but it does look just as athletic. Custom-fit aerodynamic components, a coilover suspension, 19 inch wheels, a flap exhaust system, as well as the peak power of 350 hp emphasize the sporty but discreet appearance of the street racer from JE DESIGN.
A tailor-made, three-part bumper attachment provides the front of the vehicle with an aggressive external appearance. The attachment is available for 833 Euro and is also suitable for vehicles that are fitted with an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) radar sensor. The side skirts developed by JE DESIGN (322 Euro) also visually emphasize the lowering of the sporty station wagon. Drivers who want to race their Cupra ST down the race track opt for the LED rain lights that comply with FIA regulations (249 Euro). These can be easily integrated into the rear diffuser (572 Euro).
Regardless of whether it's the three-door, five-door or ST model, the front and skirt components are suitable for all FR and Cupra designs from Seat's current Leon 5F model type. For the rear valance and diffuser, JE DESIGN believes in customized solutions for the body styles mentioned above.
The same is true when it comes to the suspension. For example, the spring set for 191 Euro – available for the original shock absorbers – enables the car to be lowered by 20 millimeters. Alternatively, the range of the refiner from Leingarten includes the KW coilover suspension DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) Plug & Play. The application costs 2,299 Euro plus installation costs and brings the compact from Spain up to 45 millimeters closer to the tarmac.
When it comes to the rims, individualists are spoiled for choice. This is also the case at JE DESIGN. Among other things, the professional refiner offers the TENSPOKE rim measuring 8 x 19 inches (offset 45) and in the finishes matt black or black gloss with silver glossy front for the "Street Race" model. Their unit price amounts to 274 Euro. Customers who opt for this light alloy wheel can continue to use the original 235/35 R19 set of tires.
A stainless steel flap exhaust system with EC approval provides the sound that matches the race design. This can be controlled via the original driving profile selection in the cockpit. The driving profiles Normal, Sport and Cupra can be selected. In the profiles Normal and Sport, the exhaust flap remains closed and the exhaust sounds sporty but discreet. In Cupra mode, the flap is opened and the exhaust lets rip its full sound. The sound upgrade made of four striking tailpipes with a diameter of 80 millimeters each can be had for 2,499 Euro. For 1,178 Euro extra, the downpipe jointly developed by JE DESIGN and HJS for the flap exhaust system with 76 mm diameter is available. This accessory also has an EC approval.
Looking for more power? The add-on electronics box developed by JE DESIGN teases 258 kW/350 hp out of the power unit (series: 206 kW/280 hp) with a maximum torque of 440 Nm. The top speed is limited to 280 km/h. The performance enhancement includes a two-year warranty on engine, driveline and transmission (from the first registration) at a price of 2,299 Euro.
All parts come with reports by an official inspection body. The flap exhaust and the downpipe have an EC approval. The FIA LED rain light is only approved for use on race tracks.
