2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X: A Luxury Heavy-Duty Off-Roader with Advanced Trailering Tech
GMC has unveiled the first-ever 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X and its AEV Edition, a luxury heavy-duty pickup truck designed for off-road enthusiasts. The Sierra HD AT4X expands GMC's premium off-road truck lineup, boasting increased off-road capability, smooth on-road handling, cutting-edge trailering technology, and first-class luxury features. The AEV Edition offers even more off-road confidence with extreme capability.
AT4X: Off-Roading the GMC Way
The Sierra HD AT4X builds on the refreshed 2024 Sierra HD platform, featuring an 18,500-pound (8,392 kg) max trailering capacity, a factory-installed 1.5-inch (38mm) suspension lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers, a rear e-locking differential, and 35-inch Goodyear Territory tires. The truck also includes an Off-Road Mode, adjusting various vehicle calibrations for optimized off-road performance, and throttle progression and transmission shifts for improved control.
AEV Edition: Confidence and Capability
The AT4X AEV Edition adds robust stamped steel bumpers, integrated recovery points, front winch capability, and heavy-duty steel skid plates to protect vital components like the steering gear and transfer case. The AEV Edition also sports unique 18-inch Salta wheels and distinct exterior badging and interior cues.
Powerful Turbocharged Engines
Beyond the standard 6.6L gas engine, the AT4X also offers the available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine, producing 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque for increased pulling power. Both engines are paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission for optimized engine power, torque, and efficiency.
Trailering Tech for Confidence
The 2024 Sierra HD AT4X offers the most trailering assistance technologies in its class, along with the available ProGrade Trailering System, designed to help streamline the hitching and towing process. The system includes up to 14 available camera views, such as Hitch View, Bed View with Zoom and Bed Hitch Guidance, and Rear Side View with Trailer Length Indicator.
First-Class Interior Luxury
Inside, the Sierra HD AT4X features the exclusive Obsidian Rush interior with power massaging front seats, full-grain leather-wrapped seats, authentic Vanta Ash wood décor, and a 12-speaker Bose® Premium Series audio system. The AEV Edition also includes the AEV logo on the front-seat head restraints and unique AEV-branded floor liners. The cabin is highlighted by an all-new, tablet-style 13.4-inch-diagonal infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch-diagonal configurable driver information center, and a 15-inch-diagonal head-up display.
Availability
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition are expected to arrive at dealerships in the fall of 2023, with pricing to be announced closer to the start of production.
