Unveiling the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette Carbon 65 Edition
Marking 65 years of Corvette's illustrious history, Chevrolet revealed a special edition of this iconic model — the 2018 Corvette Carbon 65 Edition. This exclusive package, featuring impressive carbon-fiber elements, will be offered on select trim lines, specifically the Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ, for the 2018 model year.
Limited Production
In a nod to the celebration of the 65th anniversary, production of the Carbon 65 Edition will be capped at 650 vehicles globally. These models will not only bear exclusive numerical identification but will also carry a distinctive exterior design that blends together the raw appeal of visible carbon-fiber components and a fresh Ceramic Matrix Gray paint job.
Standout Features
Each Carbon 65 Edition Corvette is slated to feature a range of unique design elements. The exterior will boast a new carbon-fiber rear spoiler and quarter ducts, adding a sleek and sporty flair. The Ceramic Matrix Gray exterior will be accented with a blue convertible top, while striking fender stripes and door graphics further elevate the aesthetic. Jet Black suede-wrapped interiors will be punctuated with blue stitching, providing a luxurious contrast.
Distinctive Carbon 65 Components
The Carbon 65 Edition package will also come with a set of black wheels featuring machined grooves, paired with summer-only tires. The visible carbon-fiber ground effects, hood section and roof, along with a new carbon-fiber steering wheel rim, will showcase the model's performance-centric design. Additional interior highlights include competition sport seats, gloss carbon-fiber interior trim, and special Carbon 65 Edition sill plates.
Availability and Pricing
The Carbon 65 Edition package will carry a price tag of $15,000 and is expected to hit showrooms this summer along with the rest of Chevrolet's 2018 Corvette lineup.
Updates to the 2018 Corvette Lineup
Besides the exclusive Carbon 65 Edition, the 2018 Corvette lineup sees some significant updates across all models. The Stingray now features new standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, up from the previous 18-inch/19-inch standard, along with five new wheel design options. The Grand Sport offers ceramic brakes as a standalone option without requiring the Z07 Performance Package. The Z06 introduces two new wheel options and a gray interior, whereas all 2018 models now come standard with HD digital radio, and offer enhanced performance recording and improved rear-view camera image quality among other updates.
