2016 Audi S8 Plus
Audi's flagship received a bigger boost with S8 plus series. The 4-liter turbocharged engine of a standard S8 luxury sedan now produces an impressive 606 horsepower (85 hp more than the standard S8 model) and 516 lb-ft of torque which can be boosted to 553 lb-ft (73 lb-ft more than the standard S8 model) by pushing a button on the steering wheel.
Performance
With the help of eight-speed Tiptronic® transmission, the Audi S8 plus accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds; a number range usually reserved for supercars rather than a large luxury sedan. Top speed is governed at 155 mph by default, but with optional Dynamic package that number increases to 190 mph.
The secret behind such impressive performance lies in lightweight construction of the S8's body, which weighs south of 510 lbs.
Armed with road hugging quattro drivetrain, that comes standard, active torque vectoring, and dynamic steering features, the S8 plus bring improved dynamic performance for active driving.
Design
The standard S8 plus comes with 21 inch 5-double-arm titanium wheels. Several exterior design elements distinguish S8 plus from standard A8; such as body-color rear lip spoiler, which is part of Dynamic package, and silver exterior mirrors. Optional Black package includes black mirror covers and black Singleframe front grill.
Pricing
2016 Audi S8 plus is priced at $114,900, excluding $925 destination fee, and goes on sale starting December of 2015.
