Volvo XC90 versus Audi Q7
Perhaps its that double linear LED headlight design that makes these two SUVs look alike, but one thing is clear: Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 are direct competitors in mid-size luxury SUV segment.
For now Audi offers only one engine for the Q7, which is a 3-liter supercharged V6 that produces 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Volvo, on the other hand, has a smaller and cheaper options for the XC90, which brings the starting price down to $43,950. That's more than ten grand less than what you'd get a Q7 for.
But smaller beginning isn't an issue here as going up the engine line we get better match for the Q7 in Volvo's XC90 T6 AWD configuration.
Both SUV's have all-wheel drive systems, essential third row seats, and get 25 miles per gallon on the highway. The XC90 T6 starts from $49,800, which is still significantly less than Audi's $54,800 starting price for the Q7. The Volvo is less powerful than the Audi, which affects acceleration and towing capacity. The Q7 is slightly longer, and wider than the XC90.
